EarthQuaker Session: Earthless - "Violence of the Red Sea"

What a trip. We invited San Diego instrumental riff worshipers Earthless to EQD HQ to tear through this ripping performance of “Violence of the Red Sea” off their album From the Ages, and the sound was monumental.

Bassist Mike Eginton dials in a girthy, wooly sound from the Hoof fuzz that’s no frills and all attitude, and cuts through the mix as he slices and dices his way around the neck.

Meanwhile in treble land, Isaiah Mitchell stacks the Dunes with the Spires to make his single-note and double-stop riffs ring with singing sustain, while his swirling, lysergic, acid-drenched lead sound comes courtesy of the Grand Orbiter, with an extra helping of reverb and delay from the Disaster Transport SR.

That’s all, folks. Not too much to say about this one, except that it’ll blow your mind.

Dim the lights, crank the volume, and remember: maximum volume yields maximum results. Enjoy.
